Kerala Congress (J) Leader P J Joseph Emphasizes Ethical Public Service at State Convention

Kerala Congress (J) chairman and MLA P J Joseph delivered a strong message at the party's state convention in Kottayam. He called for party representatives and leaders to elevate their activities to a level that brings pride to the state. Joseph inaugurated the convention on Friday, setting a tone of responsibility and integrity.

Focus on Fundamental Issues and Public Welfare

Joseph stressed that representatives must address the fundamental issues facing Kerala. He urged them to prioritize projects that benefit society as a whole. In his speech, he highlighted the need for actions that serve public needs while also considering individual benefits. Joseph emphasized that representatives should be compassionate figures who wipe the tears of common people. He insisted that the public life of Kerala Congress members must remain pure and above reproach.

Criticism of Governance and Moral Decline

Former vice-chancellor of MG University, Cyriac Thomas, delivered the keynote address. He criticized the governance in Kerala, calling it the worst in the last decade. Thomas pointed to a significant moral decline among the Left and its leaders. He expressed disappointment over some individuals who started to return to their roots but fell back into old patterns. This comment targeted the Jose K Mani faction of the Kerala Congress, which allegedly abandoned its move to join the UDF midway.

Unity and Open Doors for Workers

Kerala Congress working chairman and former MP P C Thomas presided over the event. Party executive chairman Mons Joseph also spoke, mocking the KC(M) faction. He stated that true Kerala Congress members do not stand with a foot in two boats. Instead, they row together in one boat, emphasizing unity and commitment. Mons Joseph clarified that the doors of the Kerala Congress remain open for workers from the Mani faction, inviting them to join the party's efforts.

The convention highlighted a renewed focus on ethical leadership and public service within the Kerala Congress (J). Leaders called for a return to core values and a commitment to addressing the state's pressing issues.
