JMM Leaders Launch Strong Counterattack Against BJP's Allegations
The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has launched a vigorous defense of the Hemant Soren-led coalition government, strongly dismissing the Bharatiya Janata Party's recently released 'Aarop Patra' (charge sheet) as a manifestation of the saffron party's political frustration. The sharp rebuttal came on Saturday following the opposition BJP's criticism of the government, which marked its first anniversary on November 28.
Government Achievements Outshine Previous Regimes
JMM's central general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya, while addressing media representatives, asserted that the milestones achieved by the current government in just one year significantly surpass the accomplishments of previous BJP-led governments during their multiple terms. In a confident prediction about his party's political future, Bhattacharya stated, "BJP will have to come out with such 'Aarop Patra' every year at least till 2050, as the JMM is with people's blessings till then."
Echoing these sentiments, JMM general secretary Vinod Pandey reinforced the party's position, characterizing all allegations made by the BJP as products of their political disappointment. "BJP wants to mislead the people of Jharkhand again, but the public is watching everything," Pandey emphasized during his media interaction.
Contrasting Development Records
Pandey launched a scathing attack on the BJP's governance record, highlighting what he described as the party's failure to deliver during their 19 years in office. "This is the same BJP that did nothing for the poor, tribals, farmers and the youth during its 19 years in office and is now trying to tarnish development efforts in the state," he stated, categorically dismissing the charge sheet as a bundle of lies.
The JMM leader drew sharp contrasts between the current government's initiatives and the previous BJP administration's performance. "BJP did not start even a single new social security scheme in the state for five years when they were in office. Today, our government is giving monthly financial support to nearly 50 lakh women under the Maiyan Samman Yojana. This is not fraud, it's trust," Pandey asserted.
He further highlighted several groundbreaking initiatives undertaken by the current administration, including a health insurance scheme for state employees, increased dearness allowance, and relief measures for pensioners - all areas where he claimed previous BJP governments had failed to take action.
Comprehensive Development Initiatives
The JMM leadership detailed numerous development projects and policy implementations across various sectors that demonstrate the government's commitment to progressive governance. In the education sector, significant strides have been made through the appointment of hundreds of teachers and the approval of science laboratories in 480 schools across the state.
Pandey also outlined the government's focused efforts on social security, including food distribution programs, gas subsidies, and various relief schemes. The administration has made substantial progress in governance reforms through e-governance implementation, enhanced financial monitoring systems, tender process improvements, and comprehensive digitization efforts.
Economic development has received significant attention, with the government securing investment proposals worth Rs 26,000 crores at the Bengal Global Business Summit. Tourism infrastructure has been boosted through projects like the Netarhat Jungle Safari, while aviation training has been advanced with the establishment of the Jharkhand Flying Institute in Dumka.
Worker protection has been strengthened through landmark legislation including the Gig Worker Law and Factory Amendment, demonstrating the government's commitment to labor welfare and industrial growth.
The JMM's comprehensive response underscores the escalating political tensions in Jharkhand as both major parties position themselves for upcoming political battles, with the ruling coalition emphasizing its development agenda while the opposition intensifies its criticism of the government's performance.
