Jhansi: State Tourism and Culture Minister and Jhansi district in-charge Minister, Jaiveer Singh, unveiled Jhansi's new official logo on Saturday. The logo features the slogans “Glorious History, Bright Future” and “Jhansi: Towards Development with Valor.” The launch occurred during a district-level review meeting focused on development projects and government welfare schemes.
Review of Development Projects
Singh chaired meetings of the core committee and the district administrative coordination committee. He reviewed the progress of major government schemes. Electricity and drinking water supply issues were extensively discussed. Responding to power complaints from consumers, Singh instructed the chief engineer of the electricity department to improve responsiveness and ensure timely resolution of public grievances.
Water Supply Concerns
Expressing concern over Jhansi's water supply issues, the minister directed officials of Jal Nigam, Jal Sansthan, and the Municipal Corporation to work together to deliver clean drinking water to every household.
Health Sector Review
In the health sector review, Singh ordered an inquiry into repeated incidents of alleged altercations between doctors and attendants at Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College. He announced that a committee will investigate the complaints, and strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty. He also directed the chief development officer to investigate reports of private individuals allegedly prescribing medicines at the district hospital and other irregularities.
Marriage Scheme Irregularities
Taking serious note of irregularities alleged in the implementation of the Chief Minister's mass-marriage scheme, the minister ordered an inquiry. He directed that future beneficiaries' marriages be properly registered.
Innovative Grievance Redressal
District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi briefed the minister on key district projects and highlighted an innovative grievance-redressal initiative. In this initiative, officials interact directly with complainants through video conferencing to resolve issues on the spot.
Core Committee Meeting
Earlier in the day, the minister chaired a Core Committee meeting at the Circuit House. Public representatives discussed district development and implementation of government schemes.
