INLD Demands Probe Into Rs 200 Crore Land Scam in Panchkula

Panchkula: INLD Panchkula urban district president Manoj Aggarwal has demanded a high-level investigation into an alleged scam involving municipal land valued at over Rs 200 crore, describing it as one of the most serious land irregularities in the region. Aggarwal stated that the issue underscores significant lapses in land record management and administrative oversight. He alleged that any transfer of government land into private hands through record manipulation or collusion constitutes a direct assault on public assets.

Aggarwal Raises Concerns Over Accountability

Referring to earlier financial controversies, including bank-related cases, Aggarwal expressed growing concerns over accountability. He alleged possible involvement of influential individuals, officials, and the land mafia, and called for a transparent inquiry. He demanded that the case be handed over to an independent agency or a Special Investigation Team (SIT), with criminal action against those found responsible. He also sought restoration of the land to municipal ownership and public disclosure of the findings.

INLD Threatens Public Stir

Aggarwal warned that the INLD would launch a public agitation if a fair probe was not conducted. The issue follows a reminder from the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies (DULB) to the Panchkula Municipal Corporation commissioner, seeking an immediate probe into the alleged transfer of shamlat land worth over Rs 200 crore. A complaint alleged that the then Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan transferred the land to Polo Hotel owner AK Dahiya, despite it being registered in the MC's name.
