A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three young individuals in Indore in the early hours of Friday. The victims included the daughter of a former state minister and the son of a Congress leader.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The incident occurred around 5:15 am in the Ralamandal area on the outskirts of Indore. A grey Tata Nexon car, carrying four friends who were returning from a birthday celebration, crashed into the rear of a truck with tremendous force. Police stated the collision was so severe that the front portion of the car was completely mangled, requiring a crane to clear the wreckage from the road.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishna Lalchandani, a preliminary investigation points to two primary factors: the car was being driven at a very high speed, and the driver was likely under the influence of alcohol. The group was returning to Indore city after celebrating the birthday of one of the victims, Prakhar Kasliwal, at a farmhouse.
Victims and the Survivor
The three individuals who died on the spot are:
- Prerna Bachchan (26): Daughter of former Madhya Pradesh home minister Bala Bachchan. She had completed her MBA from Mumbai and was preparing for the MPPSC examinations while residing in Indore's Scheme Number 74.
- Prakhar Kasliwal (25): Son of former Congress state spokesperson Anand Kasliwal. He was a resident of Tilak Nagar.
- Man Sandhu (26): A resident of the Bhavarkuan area, he belonged to a family involved in the transport business.
The fourth occupant, Anushka Rathi, sustained serious injuries in the crash. She was rushed to a private hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. All four were residents of Indore.
Aftermath and Last Rites
Following the accident, former minister Bala Bachchan rushed to MY Hospital. He later took his daughter's body to their native village, Kasel, in Barwani district for the final rites. Her funeral saw a large gathering of thousands of people, including several Congress leaders, legislators, and local representatives who came to pay their last respects.
Police teams reached the accident spot promptly after being informed and have initiated a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to the fatal Indore road accident.
