Hyderabad to Name Roads After Trump, Tata, Google

The Telangana government has unveiled an ambitious plan to rename several prominent roads and junctions in Hyderabad after global corporate giants and influential personalities. This initiative is aimed at positioning the state capital as a premier hub for innovation and international collaboration.

Global Icons and Tech Giants to Grace City's Map

In a significant move, the road adjacent to the United States Consulate General in Hyderabad is slated to be christened 'Donald Trump Avenue'. The government will formally communicate this decision to the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the US Embassy. This proposal follows Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's earlier suggestion at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) conclave in New Delhi to name key roads after leading global corporations.

Further honouring industrial legacy, the upcoming greenfield radial road connecting the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Raviryal with the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) will be named after the revered industrialist Ratan Tata. Notably, the interchange at Raviryal has already been designated as the 'Tata Interchange'.

Silicon Corridors: Honouring Tech Titans

The government's vision extends prominently to the technology sector. A major stretch will be named 'Google Street', acknowledging the global impact of Google Maps and the corporation's overall contributions. This name will adorn the road alongside Google's upcoming campus in the city, which is set to be its largest outside the United States.

Similarly, other tech behemoths are set for recognition. Proposals are in the pipeline for a 'Microsoft Road' and a 'Wipro Junction', aligning with the Chief Minister's vision to integrate the names of major corporations into the city's topography.

Positioning Hyderabad as an Innovation Beacon

According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), these naming proposals are a strategic part of the government's broader initiative to project Telangana as a symbol of innovation-driven India. The move is seen as a gesture to strengthen ties with the international business community and celebrate entities that have shaped the modern digital and industrial landscape.

The government has also indicated that it is considering dedicating more roads to honour other distinguished individuals and major corporations in the future, cementing Hyderabad's reputation as a global destination for business and technology.
