Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Inaugurates Major Development Initiatives in Sirmaur District

In a significant push for regional development, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stones for 17 key projects with a total value of Rs 190 crore during his one-day tour of Sirmaur district on Sunday. The event, held in Nahan, marks a substantial investment in infrastructure and public amenities aimed at boosting the district's growth and improving citizen services.

Smart Grid Technologies and Road Infrastructure Lead the Way

The foundation stones laid by CM Sukhu encompass projects worth Rs 152 crore, with a strong focus on modernizing urban infrastructure and enhancing connectivity. Among the highlights are the implementation of Smart Grid Technologies in Nahan town, valued at Rs 53.40 crore, and a similar project in Poanta Sahib town, costing Rs 43.66 crore. These initiatives are designed to improve energy efficiency and reliability in the region's power supply systems.

Additionally, several road projects were inaugurated to bolster transportation networks. These include the Rs 16.04 crore Bheron to Adi Badri road and the Rs 12.36 crore road from Kanshiwala to Biroja Factory via Jabbal Ka Bag. A further Rs 8.17 crore has been allocated for the improvement and upgradation of the Burma Papri, Palion, Majri road, ensuring better access and mobility for residents and businesses alike.

Healthcare and Educational Facilities Receive Boost

Beyond infrastructure, the development projects also address critical needs in healthcare and education. CM Sukhu inaugurated a new Chief Medical Office in Nahan, with an investment of Rs 8.42 crore, which is expected to enhance medical services and administrative efficiency in the area. In the educational sector, a boys' hostel for Technical Education at the Government Polytechnic in Dhaula Kuan was opened, costing Rs 3.17 crore, alongside the inauguration of the Government Polytechnic itself at Dhaula Kuan.

Furthermore, a new table tennis-cum-squash court complex in Nahan, valued at Rs 3.03 crore, was inaugurated, promoting sports and recreational activities for the community. This multi-purpose facility aims to nurture athletic talent and provide a venue for local events and competitions.

Comprehensive Development Strategy for Sirmaur District

The launch of these 17 projects underscores the state government's commitment to holistic development in Sirmaur district. By combining investments in smart technology, road networks, healthcare, education, and sports, the initiatives are poised to create a more connected, efficient, and vibrant region.
