Haryana Agriculture Minister Chairs Crucial Meeting on Potli Village Underpass Issue

Haryana's Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, Shyam Singh Rana, took decisive action on Friday. He chaired a high-level meeting at the Yamunanagar Deputy Commissioner's office. The meeting focused squarely on resolving a long-standing problem. The issue concerns an underpass route on the Shamli-Ambala National Highway near Potli village in the Radaur Assembly constituency.

Stakeholders Gather for Permanent Solution

The gathering brought together key stakeholders. Officials from the National Highways Authority of India attended. Local villagers and leaders from farmer unions also participated. Their collective goal was clear. They aimed to find a permanent solution to the access problem that has plagued farmers for a considerable time.

During the discussions, Minister Rana made the government's position unequivocal. He emphasized that farmers form the backbone of the nation. Resolving their difficulties remains the top priority for the administration. The BJP-led government consistently places farmers' issues at the forefront of its agenda.

Minister Clarifies Legal Standing and Government Commitment

Rana provided crucial clarification on the disputed route. He stated that the route in Potli village is officially recorded in the revenue records. Therefore, it cannot be closed under any circumstances. The minister highlighted the state government's substantial investment in the Radaur constituency. Crores of rupees have already been spent to pave permanent farm access roads.

He noted with pride that this important initiative was first launched from Radaur itself. The minister outlined the pro-farmer measures implemented by the BJP government. He recalled that many farmers were once forced to abandon agriculture. Successive welfare initiatives, like the procurement of crops at Minimum Support Price, have strengthened the farming community significantly.

Rana stressed a fundamental principle of governance. Since a government is formed by the people, it has a duty to address public grievances promptly and effectively.

Urgent Directives Issued to NHAI Officials

The minister issued a stern warning to NHAI officials present. Failure to resolve the Potli village access route issue would continue to cause serious hardship for local farmers in the future. He termed the farmers' demand as entirely legitimate, given that the route has existed for a very long time.

Rana directed NHAI officials to take immediate action. They must urgently consult their senior authorities and the Government of India. The goal is to arrive at a permanent solution without further delay. The minister revealed that the matter is also in the knowledge of the Chief Minister. This makes its early resolution absolutely essential.

Deputy Commissioner Reinforces Call for Action

Deputy Commissioner Preeti provided clear instructions to the NHAI team. She directed them to immediately contact their regional head. Officials must clearly identify the competent authority responsible for resolving this specific issue. Dialogue must be initiated at the appropriate administrative level without any postponement.

She emphasized a critical point for progress. Without clarity on jurisdiction and responsibility, the problem cannot be effectively resolved. The meeting saw participation from a wide range of officials and community representatives.
