Gujarat Police Recruitment Board Announces Provisional Selection for Sub Inspector Posts

The Gujarat Police Recruitment Board has officially published the provisional selection list and provisional waiting list for 472 positions of Unarmed Police Sub Inspector. This announcement pertains to Advertisement No. GPRB/202324/1, with both lists now accessible on the board's official website for all candidates to review.

Post-Verification Announcement and Provisional Nature

The release of these lists follows the comprehensive document verification exercise that was conducted from February 5 to February 10, 2026. Board officials have emphasized that the current lists are strictly provisional and do not grant any automatic right to appointment. The final selection list will be issued only after the completion of all pending verification procedures, ensuring thorough scrutiny.

Ongoing Certificate Verification for Reserved Categories

Authorities have confirmed that caste certificate verification for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) categories is being meticulously carried out by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department. Simultaneously, verification for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates is under the purview of the Scheduled Caste Development Department.

The scrutiny of documents for numerous candidates has already been finalized, while the remaining cases are actively under process. The respective departments will assess the validity of each certificate and determine the candidate's eligibility for category-specific benefits. Crucially, the final merit list will be prepared only after these critical decisions are formally received and integrated.

Category-Wise Cut-off Marks for Provisional Selection

The board has disclosed detailed category-wise cut-off marks for the provisional selection list. In the General category, the cut-off stands at 229.75 for male candidates and 216.25 for female candidates, with ex-servicemen requiring 128.25.

For the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, the cut-off is set at 227.75 for males and 211.25 for females. SC candidates need 221.75 for males and 209.25 for females, while SEBC cut-offs are 225.25 and 211.25 respectively. The ST category cut-off is 206.25 for male candidates and 189.25 for female candidates.

Waiting List Cut-offs and Detailed Selection Criteria

Separate cut-offs have also been established for the provisional waiting list. In the General category, the threshold is 225.75 for males and 210.75 for females. Similar category-wise limits have been formally notified for EWS, SC, SEBC, and ST candidates, providing transparency in the selection process.

In instances where candidates secured identical marks, preference was accorded to the younger candidate based on their date of birth. If both marks and age were identical, height was considered as the deciding factor, with the taller candidate being placed higher in the ranking.

Objection Window and Compliance Provisions

Candidates who identify any discrepancies in the provisional or interim lists are permitted to submit objections in person at the Recruitment Board office located in Sector-09, Gandhinagar. These objections must be accompanied by supporting documents and submitted by 17:30 hours on February 28, 2026. Applications submitted through alternative modes or after the specified deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances.

The board has also stated unequivocally that any candidate found ineligible during the ongoing recruitment process may face appropriate disciplinary action. All decisions issued by the state government from time to time will be fully binding on all applicants, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
