Fog Alert for 14 MP Districts, Cold Day Conditions Likely

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting moderate fog conditions for more than fourteen districts in the northeastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. The alert, issued on Monday, specifically points to Wednesday as a day of concern for reduced visibility due to fog.

Districts Under Fog Alert

As per the detailed forecast, the districts expected to experience moderate fog on Wednesday include Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhattarpur, Panna, Satna, Maihar, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli. This widespread alert covers a significant portion of the state's northeast, potentially impacting road and rail travel.

Dense Fog and Cold Day Warning

In a more specific warning for the immediate 24-hour period, the IMD has indicated that dense fog and cold day conditions may persist at isolated places in several districts. The areas of particular concern are Gwalior, Sidhi, Rewa, Satna, Chhatarpur, and Tikamgarh. Cold day conditions refer to a scenario where the maximum temperature falls significantly below normal, adding to the discomfort caused by the fog.

Bhopal's Weather Outlook

For the state capital, Bhopal, and its surrounding areas, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy. The temperature is forecasted to hover around 26°C during the daytime. However, residents should brace for colder nights, with the mercury likely to dip to about 9°C. Interestingly, the night between Sunday and Monday was slightly warmer than the previous one, with the minimum temperature recording a rise of 2 degrees to settle at 8.8°C.

Authorities advise commuters, especially those traveling through the alerted districts, to exercise caution, use fog lights, and check for travel advisories. The combination of fog and cold day conditions necessitates extra preparedness for vulnerable populations as well.
