An FIR has been registered against Samajwadi Party MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district over alleged derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a political protest.
Video Sparks Controversy
The controversy erupted after a purported video from the SP protest went viral on social media. BJP leaders accused Lodhi of making objectionable comments and threatening the government during the demonstration over power cuts, smart meter installations and inflation.
Complaint and Legal Action
Following a complaint by BJP leader Satyendra Pratap Gupta, police filed a case at Kotwali Nagar police station. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly criticised the remarks, calling them a serious blow to democratic values and parliamentary dignity.
