Dombivli Clash Injures BJP Leader, Five Sena Workers Arrested

Dombivli Political Clash Leaves BJP Candidate's Husband Seriously Injured

A violent confrontation erupted between workers of the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party in Dombivli late Monday night. The incident occurred in the Tukaram Nagar area and resulted in serious injuries to Omnath Natekar. Natekar is the husband of BJP Panel No. 29 candidate Arya Natekar.

Police Register Cases and Make Arrests

Local police authorities have taken swift action following the clash. They registered formal cases against individuals from both political groups. Officers arrested five Shiv Sena workers in connection with the violent episode. The police have filed an attempt to murder case under BNS Section 109.

Omnath Natekar received urgent medical attention after the attack. He is currently undergoing treatment at the private AIMS Hospital located in Dombivli. His condition remains serious according to hospital sources.

Minor Injuries Reported on Both Sides

The clash did not only affect Natekar. Two additional BJP workers sustained minor injuries during the altercation. One Shiv Sena functionary also suffered minor wounds. Police officials confirmed these details while investigating the scene.

Campaign Meeting Sparks Violent Confrontation

BJP leaders provided their account of how the violence started. They stated that Omnath Natekar visited a housing society in Tukaram Nagar. He went there with three to four supporters for a campaign-related meeting.

Shiv Sena candidates Nitin Patil and his brother Ravi Patil were campaigning in the same panel. They arrived at the location with a large group of their own supporters. The Patil brothers then confronted the BJP workers including Natekar.

The Shiv Sena members accused the BJP group of distributing money to voters. Police reports indicate they also objected strongly to the BJP presence in that particular area.

Allegations and Denials from Both Parties

BJP functionaries claimed the situation escalated quickly. They said Sena workers warned them against campaigning on the society premises. This warning led to a heated argument that turned physical.

BJP's Kalyan district president Nandu Parab offered further explanation. He suggested Shiv Sena candidates felt threatened by Natekar's outreach. Parab stated the Patil brothers feared Natekar would gain resident support through his meetings. This fear allegedly prompted false allegations about cash distribution and the subsequent attack.

Shiv Sena leader Nitin Patil responded to these accusations. He firmly denied all allegations made against him and his brother. Patil rejected claims that they instigated the violence or made false charges.

Political Protests Lead to Police Action

BJP workers organized protests outside the Dombivli police station following the incident. These demonstrations pressured authorities to take formal legal action. Police subsequently registered the attempt to murder offence against multiple individuals.

The named accused include Nitin Patil, Ravi Patil, Roshan Ravi Patil, and Yash Nitin Patil. Several other unidentified persons also face charges in the case. The BJP and Shiv Sena are technically engaged in a friendly fight within the panel despite this violent clash.
