Opposition Leader Levels Serious Allegations Against CPM Over Ayyappa Event
In a scathing attack, Opposition leader V D Satheesan has accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) of engaging in fraudulent activities and reaping substantial profits under the guise of the Global Ayyappa Sangamam event. Satheesan asserted that the CPM exploited the situation politically across Kerala, prominently displaying posters and hoardings, yet now attempts to wash its hands of the alleged fraud.
Government's Role Questioned in Financial Mismanagement
Satheesan pointedly questioned the government's involvement, highlighting that the devaswom minister has claimed ignorance regarding who received funds from the Ayyappa conclave. "The government was at the forefront of organizing the meeting," Satheesan stated. "If the government wasn't involved, why were there hoardings featuring the chief minister's picture all over Kerala? Is there no connection between the devaswom board and the government?"
Link to Sabarimala Gold Heist Case Highlighted
Further intensifying his allegations, Satheesan referenced the Sabarimala gold heist, noting that three CPM leaders are currently in jail in connection with the case. He emphasized that the CPM appointed A Padmakumar, N Vasu, and P S Prasanth to the Travancore Devaswom Board, suggesting that individuals outside the board could not have smuggled the gold. According to Satheesan, the CPM is now attempting to shift blame onto others after being caught.
Satheesan also drew attention to Unnikrishnan Potti, alleging that a search for his picture would reveal him alongside Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, implying deeper connections within the party. The opposition leader's remarks underscore ongoing tensions in Kerala's political landscape, with accusations of corruption and deception taking center stage.
