Telangana Congress Leader Vows Never to Contest from Sangareddy Again After Painful Defeat

Telangana Congress working president T Jagga Reddy made a strong declaration on Saturday. He said he would never contest elections from the Sangareddy assembly constituency again. His defeat there left him deeply hurt, even though Congress leader Rahul Gandhi campaigned for him at his request.

Emotional Speech in Sangareddy

Speaking at a programme in Sangareddy, Jagga Reddy turned emotional. He recalled the circumstances surrounding his loss. "When Rahul Gandhi placed his hand on my shoulder and appealed to the people to ensure my win, I still lost. This is something I will never forget in my life," he said.

He explained the reasons for his defeat. "The poor were not responsible for my defeat. They were intellectuals and influential elders. Their role, due to various factors, contributed significantly to the election result," he added.

No Future Campaigns in Sangareddy

Jagga Reddy also made another significant statement. He said that even if his wife, Nirmala, were to contest from Sangareddy in the future, he would not campaign in the constituency. "I will campaign anywhere else in the state but not in Sangareddy," he emphasized.

This decision highlights his deep disappointment with the constituency. It shows how the election outcome has affected his political strategy moving forward.

The Congress leader's remarks come at a time when political dynamics in Telangana are evolving. His personal experience sheds light on the challenges faced by candidates in assembly elections.
