The BJP won 23 seats in the election. It has the support of one councillor from the Shiv Sena Shinde faction, taking its strength to 24. Two Independents, the BSP, and the AIMIM each hold one seat.

This happened despite being part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi at the state level. "We have supported our allies without seeking positions previously," Girhe said. "This time, our stand is firm. The mayor must be from Shiv Sena." He added that the party would not press hard for other posts in the corporation.
Congress Explores Alternative Paths
Congress is actively exploring alternative combinations to cross the majority mark. The party is considering support from Independents and smaller parties.
