Delhi Assembly Winter Session to Table Key CAG Reports on AAP Era Projects
CAG Reports on AAP Era to be Tabled in Delhi Assembly

The upcoming winter session of the Delhi Assembly is set to be a significant one, with multiple audit reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) concerning the period when the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was in office scheduled for tabling. Officials confirmed that these crucial documents will be presented when the House convenes.

Key Reports Under Scrutiny

The CAG reports expected to be tabled cover several high-profile subjects from the previous administration. These include audits of the mohalla clinics initiative, the renovation work carried out at the 'Sheesh Mahal'—the official residence occupied by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from 2015 to 2024—and the state's finances for the fiscal year 2022-23. The presentation of these reports is likely to spark detailed discussion and scrutiny of the AAP government's administrative and financial decisions during its tenure.

Session Schedule and Arrangements

The winter session is officially scheduled to run from January 5 to January 8, 2025. The proceedings will commence with the customary address by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena. At a press conference held on Friday, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta stated that the session "will take up key legislative business." He assured that all necessary administrative and procedural preparations, including coordination across various branches of the Secretariat, have been finalized to ensure the smooth conduct of the House's business.

Cultural Programme Announced for 2026

In a separate announcement, Speaker Vijender Gupta also revealed plans for a major cultural and spiritual event in the coming year. A prominent Jain saint, Acharya Lokeshji, will conduct a nine-day Ram Katha from January 17 to January 25, 2026, at the Bharat Mandapam. Gupta will serve as the patron for this event. The organising committee for the programme will be chaired by former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

The tabling of the CAG reports marks a pivotal moment for legislative oversight in the national capital, bringing audit findings into the legislative domain for examination. The winter session is poised to focus intently on governance and accountability through these detailed financial and performance audits.
