Session Schedule and Arrangements
The winter session is officially scheduled to run from January 5 to January 8, 2025. The proceedings will commence with the customary address by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena. At a press conference held on Friday, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta stated that the session "will take up key legislative business." He assured that all necessary administrative and procedural preparations, including coordination across various branches of the Secretariat, have been finalized to ensure the smooth conduct of the House's business.
Cultural Programme Announced for 2026
In a separate announcement, Speaker Vijender Gupta also revealed plans for a major cultural and spiritual event in the coming year. A prominent Jain saint, Acharya Lokeshji, will conduct a nine-day Ram Katha from January 17 to January 25, 2026, at the Bharat Mandapam. Gupta will serve as the patron for this event. The organising committee for the programme will be chaired by former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
