Bokaro District Administration Imposes Strict Prohibitory Orders as Election Silence Period Commences
The district administration of Bokaro has taken decisive action by imposing prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) across multiple municipal areas. This enforcement coincides with the mandatory silence period that has officially kicked in for the upcoming elections scheduled for February 23.
Immediate Evacuation of Outside Campaigners Ordered
In a significant development, the prohibitory orders were first implemented within the limits of the Chas Municipal Corporation on Saturday evening. Pranjal Dhanda, the Chas subdivisional magistrate, provided detailed clarification regarding the stringent measures.
"The order explicitly directs all outside campaigners who are not registered voters in the municipal area to leave immediately," stated Dhanda. "Furthermore, public meetings, rallies, and the use of loudspeakers are completely banned throughout this critical period to ensure a peaceful electoral environment."
Widespread Enforcement Across Municipal Areas
The enforcement of prohibitory orders is not limited to Chas alone. Similar restrictions have been actively imposed in the municipal council limits of Bermo and Phusro, indicating a comprehensive approach by the district administration to maintain order during the election silence period.
Appeal for Strict Adherence to Model Code of Conduct
Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha has issued a strong appeal to all stakeholders involved in the electoral process. He urged candidates, their supporters, hotel operators, and the general citizenry to strictly adhere to the model code of conduct.
The administration's proactive measures aim to prevent any potential disturbances and ensure that the election proceedings are conducted in a fair and transparent manner, free from undue influence or public disruptions.
