Madikeri: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) faced a setback in Kodagu district during the last Karnataka assembly elections due to minor mistakes, according to state party president BY Vijayendra. He urged party functionaries to strengthen the organization without repeating those errors.
Meeting at Shanivarasanthe
Speaking at a meeting with district BJP functionaries and workers at Shanivarasanthe on Sunday, Vijayendra emphasized that Kodagu is a model district for the state BJP. He noted that the party lost both constituencies in the district in the previous elections because of a small mistake. "We must ensure that such errors do not occur in the future," he said, calling on workers to further strengthen the Kodagu district BJP unit.
Criticism of State Government
Vijayendra mocked the Congress-led state government, alleging rampant corruption. He claimed that the government might see a third chief minister soon after DK Shivakumar, implying instability. "Corruption is rampant in the state, and anti-people policies could lead to the fall of the Congress government at any time," he warned.
Call to Action
The BJP chief urged party workers to convey the administrative failures, mismanagement, and lack of development by the Congress government to every household in the state. He stressed the need for grassroots-level communication to expose the government's shortcomings.
Mysore MP's Remarks
Mysore MP Yaduveer Wadiyar highlighted numerous problems faced by Kodagu district, including human-wildlife conflict. He accused the Congress government of failing to provide permanent solutions to these issues. "A plan is being prepared for a systematic struggle against the Congress government in the coming days," he said, adding that party workers should work honestly to secure more seats in all upcoming elections.
