The focal point in the capital was a magnificent Deepotsav, or festival of lights, held at the Khajpura Shiva Temple. The event saw the lighting of 1,000 oil lamps within the temple premises, creating a resonant symbol of resilience and cultural pride. The gathering was organized by Digha MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia and witnessed the presence of a substantial crowd, including senior party officials.
Deputy CM Highlights Historical Context and Present Leadership
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary attended the ceremony and offered prayers. Addressing the attendees, he contextualized the historical event. He described Mahmud Ghazni's invasion as a "wicked attempt to destroy the holy Somnath Temple." Choudhary then linked the past to the present, stating, "Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this glorious history is being celebrated across the country as Somnath Swabhiman Parv."
