Bihar's 'Mini Bihar' Tableaux for Republic Day in Patna

The Bihar government is gearing up for a spectacular Republic Day celebration in Patna. Officials plan to present a vivid snapshot of the state through a series of tableaux at Gandhi Maidan on January 26. This display, dubbed 'Mini Bihar', will feature contributions from twelve different state departments.

A Visual Journey Through Bihar's Identity

Each tableau aims to reflect key aspects of Bihar's character and ambitions. The presentations will cover the state's rich cultural heritage, deep spiritual traditions, ongoing development initiatives, and measurable social progress. Organizers intend to offer the public a clear and engaging visual representation of Bihar's identity and its vision for the coming years.

Key Attractions and Themes

One of the central highlights promises to be the tableau depicting Punauradham in Sitamarhi. This site is revered as the birthplace of Goddess Sita, making it a significant spiritual and cultural symbol.

Patna District Magistrate Thiyagrajan S M outlined the broader themes. "Several tableaux will focus squarely on development and social change," he stated. These visual stories will present complex themes in an easy-to-understand format. Topics include the push for clean energy, critical environmental protection efforts, and strategies for building stronger rural economies. The displays will also visualize goals for better education, sustained industrial growth, and the creation of a drug-free society.

Departmental Highlights and Messages

The transport department's entry will make a powerful statement. It will feature women confidently driving pink buses, carrying the resonant message of 'Women’s power, national power'. This highlights government efforts to ensure safe public transport while creating employment opportunities specifically for women.

Meanwhile, the art and culture department prepares its tableau titled 'Tradition to conservation: The continuous journey of an artist'. This presentation will showcase Bihar's diverse folk traditions and underscore the vital work being done to preserve these traditional art forms for future generations.

Spotlight on Development and Empowerment

The energy department will use its platform to highlight clean energy initiatives. Its display will prominently feature the Kajra Solar Energy-cum-Battery Storage System Project, a flagship renewable energy effort.

Education takes center stage with the Bihar Education Project Council. Their tableau, under the theme 'Safe schools, quality education – bright future', will focus on the fundamental importance of education in shaping the state's destiny.

Industrial aspirations will be reflected by the industry department through its tableau, 'Prosperous Industries, Empowered Bihar'. This aims to showcase the state's industrial growth and its considerable investment potential to onlookers.

Focus on Society and Livelihoods

The law department chooses to emphasize environmental conservation with its presentation, 'Clean environment – strong India'. Jeevika, the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society, will focus on women’s empowerment. Their tableau will highlight the 'Mukhya Mantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana', conveying a comprehensive message of self-reliance and employment for women across the state.

The co-operative department will illustrate the strengthening of rural financial institutions through its tableau, 'Developed PACS, developed Bihar', focusing on primary agricultural credit societies.

Safety, Agriculture, and Social Welfare

Public safety will be represented by the Director-cum-state fire officer presenting 'Bihar Fire Services: Committed and Unwavering'. From the agriculture department, the joint director (crops) for information and technology will display a tableau based on oil production titled 'Golden Path from Oilseeds: Processing for a prosperous village'.

Addressing a critical social issue, the department of prohibition, excise, and registration will present 'Nashamukt Bihar – Sashakt Parivar'. This tableau is designed to visually illustrate the manifold benefits of abstaining from intoxication for individuals, families, and society.

Logistics and Security Arrangements

District Magistrate Thiyagrajan S M also detailed important logistical and safety measures. "The height of the tableaux will not exceed 15 feet," he confirmed. All nodal officers have received strict directives to ensure that every participating artist is at least 15 years old.

Security remains a top priority. Comprehensive anti-sabotage checks will be conducted on each tableau before it is permitted to enter the Gandhi Maidan venue. To ensure a flawless presentation on Republic Day, a full dry run of all the tableaux is scheduled for January 24. This rehearsal will allow departments to fine-tune their displays and coordinate seamlessly for the main event.
