In a strong declaration aimed at restoring public order, Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced a stringent crackdown on criminal elements across the state. Speaking at a college event in Patna on Wednesday, Choudhary outlined the government's dual focus on establishing security and driving economic growth through employment.
Zero Tolerance on Crime: A Three-Month Clean-Up Drive
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister left no room for ambiguity regarding the administration's stance on law and order. Samrat Choudhary asserted that the government would take strict action against criminals to maintain peace and order. He declared that every identified criminal would be sent to jail, revealing that this initiative has already commenced from the Danapur area in Patna district.
"Some criminals roam around secretly. My job now is to fix the criminals here, clean the garbage, and run a cleanliness campaign," Choudhary stated. He emphasized that alongside his political duties, a primary focus is to drive criminals out of Bihar. He credited the collective demand for good governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and provided a clear timeline, noting that while some offenders have already fled, those remaining would be driven out within the next three months.
Blueprint for a Prosperous Bihar: Jobs, Education, and Industry
Shifting focus to development, the Deputy CM connected the state's illustrious past of knowledge and sacrifice to its future potential. He highlighted that education and skill development are the fundamental keys to changing Bihar's fortunes. On the critical issue of unemployment, Choudhary reaffirmed the government's commitment to its promise of generating employment for the youth.
The state has set an ambitious target to provide one crore jobs and employment opportunities to young people over the next five years. To oversee this mammoth task, a separate department has been created. The strategy to achieve this goal rests on three pillars:
- Industrial Development
- Skill Development
- Promotion of Entrepreneurship
Choudhary urged the youth to concentrate on their studies and acquire relevant skills to compete in the job market, assuring them of the government's full support.
Major Projects and Domicile Policy for Local Youth
To transform Bihar into a technical and industrial hub, the government has announced plans for several large-scale projects. These include the establishment of a defence corridor, a semiconductor manufacturing park, and a mega tech city. These initiatives are designed to attract investment and create high-quality employment.
In a significant move aimed at benefiting local residents, the Deputy CM announced the decision to implement a domicile policy in government jobs. This policy will reserve a certain percentage of government positions for residents of Bihar. The objective is twofold: to provide more opportunities for local youth and to prevent outsiders from taking jobs intended for the state's own population.
Samrat Choudhary's address presented a comprehensive vision for Bihar, combining an immediate, tough stance on crime with a long-term, detailed roadmap for economic development and youth empowerment.
