Sameer Bhujbal: Anti-Incumbency, Lack of Development Boosting MVA in Nashik
Bhujbal: Anti-incumbency, stalled development aid MVA in Nashik

In a significant claim, former NCP MP from Nashik, Sameer Bhujbal, stated on Friday that the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance is witnessing a surge in its campaign momentum. He attributed this rise to a potent wave of anti-incumbency against the ruling BJP and a glaring absence of major developmental works in the city over the past four years under an administrator's rule.

Public Frustration Over Civic Issues

Speaking during a visit to The Times of India office, Bhujbal elaborated on the reasons behind the shifting political winds. He claimed that the Shiv Sena-NCP coalition is making notable inroads within Nashik city itself, despite the fact that all three sitting MLAs from the city belong to the BJP.

"Considering the situation in the city, people are frustrated with poor roads and water supply," Bhujbal said. He emphasized that critical development in and around Nashik has been stalled. This includes projects related to Metro or rapid rail connectivity, road infrastructure, IT parks, and industrial growth, which have failed to materialize under the current administration.

Crediting Past Vision, Confident of Victory

Drawing a contrast with the past, Bhujbal highlighted the developmental legacy of his party. He pointed out that it was the vision of senior leader and Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Chhagan Bhujbal, that led to the execution of appreciated projects like the flyover across Nashik city.

"We are therefore confident that people will vote us to power," he added, connecting public appreciation for past NCP-led works with the current electoral strategy. The alliance is positioning itself as the alternative that can restart and accelerate Nashik's development trajectory.

The Political Battle Intensifies

Bhujbal's statements underscore the intensifying political battle in the key constituency of Nashik. His analysis points to civic dissatisfaction and infrastructure gaps as central issues that could override traditional party loyalties. The claim of gaining momentum in the BJP's urban stronghold suggests a fiercely contested election ahead, where local governance records are taking center stage.
