Bhilwara: District police have arrested a man from Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam district for allegedly stabbing his friend to death following a dispute over wages in the Mandal police station area of Bhilwara, Superintendent of Police Sagar Rana said on Wednesday.
Details of the Incident
The accused, identified as Ankit Peter (38), was arrested after an investigation into the murder of Hitesh, who was living with him at the time of the incident. According to SP Rana, a complaint was lodged at Mandal police station on June 8 by Deepak Kumar Maheshwari, a resident of Jhabua district in Madhya Pradesh. Maheshwari stated that the family was informed that very morning that Hitesh was unwell. Following this, he traveled to Bhilwara along with Hitesh's wife Yogita and brother Vijay Sharma.
Investigation and Arrest
During the investigation, it emerged that Hitesh had a quarrel with Peter over wages and was allegedly stabbed with a knife. He was rushed to a hospital by his employer's son, Kamal Meghwanshi, where doctors declared him dead. Police registered a murder case and formed a special investigation team under Deputy Superintendent of Police Rahul Joshi. Investigators inspected the crime scene, and the probe concluded that Hitesh was killed by Peter. He was subsequently arrested and is being interrogated.
Post-Mortem and Family Notification
A post-mortem examination was conducted, and the body was later handed over to the family. The police continue to investigate the motive behind the murder and any additional evidence that may surface. The accused remains in custody as legal proceedings move forward.
