UP Congress Chief Ajay Rai Alleges Over 1,700 Brahmin Killings in a Decade
Ajay Rai: 1,700+ Brahmins Killed in UP in 10 Years

The president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, Ajay Rai, launched a sharp attack on the state's ruling dispensation on Thursday. He alleged that the Brahmin community is confronting escalating violence and systemic neglect under the present administration.

Allegations of Violence and Fake Encounters

Addressing a gathering at a 'Vipra Jan Charcha' and community feast, Rai made a grave claim. He stated that more than 1,700 individuals from the Brahmin community have been killed over the past ten years. The event was organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Mahasabha at the Baba Gomti Das site near Thakurganj Ghas Mandi crossing in Lucknow.

Rai directly accused the government of targeting Brahmins through what he termed "fake encounters." He emphasized that Congress leaders have consistently raised their voices against such perceived injustices. Rai mentioned his personal efforts to travel across Uttar Pradesh to meet with victims of violence, asserting that the Brahmin community remains among the most affected sections.

Congress's Pitch for Inclusive Governance

Drawing a contrast with the current regime, the Congress leader invoked the party's historical record. He reminded the audience that previous Congress governments in the state had appointed chief ministers from the Brahmin community. Rai highlighted that those leaders worked for the welfare of all societal sections and contributed significantly to UP's development.

"The Congress party believes in inclusive governance and the equal participation of all communities," Rai asserted. His speech focused on the socio-economic concerns and alleged atrocities faced by Brahmins, positioning his party as their champion.

A Warning for the 2027 Elections

Rai's address took a distinctly political turn as he looked ahead to the next state assembly elections. He issued a clear warning, stating that the Brahmin community would not remain a silent spectator. The UPCC chief declared that the community would actively ensure it received its fair share of political power.

"The community will play a decisive role in forming the next government," Rai predicted, signaling a major electoral battle in 2027 where caste equations could be pivotal. During the event, a symbolic 'farsa' was presented to Ajay Rai by Aryan Mishra through Ashish Dixit, underscoring the community's support.
