AIMIM Expands Political Footprint in Telangana After Maharashtra Success
AIMIM to Contest Telangana Civic Polls After Maharashtra Gains

Fresh from encouraging results in Maharashtra's municipal corporation elections, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is now setting its sights on Telangana. The party, led by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, is gearing up to contest the upcoming municipal and municipal corporation elections across the state. These crucial local body polls are anticipated to take place around the middle of February.

Building Momentum After Maharashtra

The party's decision follows a performance in Maharashtra that has injected fresh confidence into its ranks. This success appears to have galvanized the leadership to expand its footprint in its home state of Telangana. The move signals a strategic push to strengthen its grassroots presence and political influence at the local governance level.

Call for Aspirants and Application Process

As part of its preparation, the AIMIM leadership has officially opened the door for potential candidates. The party has invited applications from individuals aspiring to contest the civic polls on its ticket. Interested persons must follow a specific procedure.

First, they need to download the official application form. This form is available on the party's official Facebook page. After carefully filling out the form, aspirants face a financial step.

They are required to submit the completed application along with a demand draft. This draft must be for ₹3,000 and drawn in favor of 'AIMIM'. Importantly, this fee is non-refundable. The submission must be made to the town Majlis president in the applicant's respective district.

Strict Deadline and Clear Instructions

The party has set a firm deadline for this process. All applications, accompanied by the demand drafts, must reach the designated town presidents by January 20. There will be no extensions to this date.

Party leaders have issued clear instructions to their local office-bearers. Town presidents have been directed to collect all the submitted forms and drafts promptly. They must then forward these documents immediately to the AIMIM headquarters for central processing.

Centralized Candidate Announcement

A senior party leader emphasized the importance of a unified announcement process. "No announcement of any candidate's name should be made under any circumstances," the leader stated firmly. This rule applies to all local units and leaders.

The final list of candidates will be released officially by the party president, Asaduddin Owaisi himself. This centralized control ensures the party presents a cohesive front and manages its electoral strategy from the top.

The upcoming civic polls in Telangana represent a significant test for AIMIM. The party aims to translate its recent momentum in Maharashtra into tangible gains in local governance within its primary political base. The application process marks the first formal step in its campaign machinery gearing up for the February contest.
