A senior functionary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in Tamil Nadu's Pudukottai district died on Monday morning following a tragic road accident. The victim, identified as V C Ramaiah, was 68 years old.

The fatal accident occurred while Ramaiah was riding his two-wheeler. He was struck by a car on a road section near Thiruvarankulam, close to the Vallathirakottai village area. The morning commute turned fatal for the seasoned political worker.
V C Ramaiah sustained serious injuries from the collision. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Pudukottai town for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, his condition was critical.
