AAP Fires Back at Haryana Chief Minister Over Flood Compensation Comments

The Aam Aadmi Party launched a sharp counterattack on Saturday. They targeted Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini for his recent statements about flood relief efforts in Punjab.

Punjab AAP Leader Dismisses Allegations as Fabrications

Baltej Pannu, the AAP's media in-charge for Punjab, led the charge. He labeled Saini's claims a complete bundle of lies. Pannu suggested the Haryana CM should focus his energy elsewhere.

Instead of concerning himself with Punjab's affairs, Pannu stated, the chief minister should urge the central government to settle Punjab's outstanding financial dues. He expressed frustration over Saini's frequent visits to Punjab.

Pannu remarked that despite leading Haryana, Saini appears to spend more time in neighboring Punjab. It would have been far better, he advised, if the CM had verified the facts on the ground before making any public statements.

Defending Punjab Government's Relief Actions

The AAP leader strongly defended the Punjab government's response to the floods. He asserted that compensation reached every single affected family without exception.

The state government provided comprehensive support, Pannu claimed. This aid covered damaged homes, lost livestock, and assistance to families who suffered tragic deaths. The Punjab government stood firmly with every victim, he emphasized, offering crucial support during their time of greatest need.

Turning Fire on the BJP-Led Central Government

Pannu then shifted his criticism towards the central government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party. He raised pointed questions about promised relief funds.

He specifically asked about the status of Rs 1,600 crore. This amount was announced by the Prime Minister as token money for flood relief during his visit to Punjab. Where is this promised assistance? Pannu demanded to know.

His argument was straightforward. If the Centre failed to release even the initial token amount, how could Punjab expect any further help? The anti-Punjab stance of the central government, Pannu concluded, is now completely visible for all to see.

The AAP's response highlights ongoing political tensions between the state and central governments over disaster management and financial support.
