Woman Found Dead in Marital Home Three Months After Wedding

The discovery of a 20-year-old woman's body in her marital home just three months after her wedding has triggered a police investigation against five people in Rewari. Pramila, a resident of Lalpura village, was found dead on Saturday at the house of her husband, Dharmender, in Lukhi village.

Initially, her in-laws claimed it was a suicide. However, her maternal family disputed this, pointing to the unusual position of the body and signs of a struggle in the room. Pramila's relatives reported finding her body on a bed with her legs touching the floor. They also noticed spilled water and an open wardrobe in the room.

Tensions escalated at the scene when family members alleged that a police officer prevented them from documenting the site and seized a mobile phone. The woman's husband, a school electrician, was reportedly missing when the family arrived.

A medical board conducted an autopsy on Sunday following demands from Pramila's father, Charat Singh. Village leaders requested the funeral be held at Lukhi, but the woman's family took the body for the funeral elsewhere.

Investigating officer Naresh Kumar confirmed that the woman's husband and his parents are among the five accused. Forensic results and the autopsy report will help police determine the cause of death.
