Kochi: A 15-year-old boy who went missing after being washed away by waves at Kuzhippilly beach on Sunday was found dead on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Athul, son of Anilkumar, of Elamkulam. He went missing at 6:15 p.m. after he and his cousins ventured into the waters.
Incident Details
Police said the group was playing in the waves when Athul was swept away by a huge wave. Despite efforts by others, he could not be rescued. Fire and rescue personnel along with locals conducted searches until late Sunday night, but he was not found.
Recovery of the Body
On Monday morning, Athul's body was discovered at Chathangad beach. Officials emphasized the need for caution while visiting beaches, as the sea can be rough and unpredictable. The body was handed over to the family after an autopsy.
Legal Proceedings
A missing case registered by Munambam police will be transferred to Fort Kochi coastal police. Authorities urge beachgoers to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines.
