In a recent initiative to enhance road safety and compliance with traffic regulations, the Karnal Traffic Police have issued a 15-day deadline for auto-rickshaw and e-rickshaw drivers to complete all required vehicle documentation. Traffic SHO Ramlal convened a meeting with drivers near the traffic police post in the city, where he outlined a series of directives aimed at ensuring adherence to traffic rules.
Documentation Deadline and Penalties
SHO Ramlal emphasized that all drivers must finalize their vehicle-related paperwork within the next 15 days. He warned that after this period, strict enforcement measures would be implemented against those who fail to comply. “Drivers have been given 15 days to complete all required documents. After that, challans will be issued, and vehicles found without proper documentation may be impounded,” he stated.
Safe Driving Practices
The SHO underscored the importance of responsible driving, urging drivers to refrain from operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol. He also stressed that every driver must possess a valid driving license while on duty. “Do not create traffic jams, drive carefully, stay in your lane, and avoid taking sudden cuts on the road,” he added, highlighting the need for lane discipline and avoidance of reckless driving that often leads to congestion and accidents.
Honesty and Public Trust
In addition to traffic compliance, SHO Ramlal appealed to drivers to uphold honesty and public trust. He urged them to return any belongings left behind by passengers and, if possible, ensure such items are delivered safely to their rightful owners. “If a passenger forgets any item in your vehicle, make every effort to return it. Be honest and set an example for society,” he said.
The meeting was part of ongoing efforts by the Karnal Traffic Police to improve road safety and foster a culture of responsibility among auto and e-rickshaw drivers. The department plans to conduct regular checks after the deadline to ensure compliance.
