Panvel Civic Body's Alleged Negligence Sparks Resident Anger
The Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is facing serious allegations from residents of Taloja for apparently ignoring a persistent problem of illegal advertisement banners. The issue is particularly severe in Taloja Phase-2, where numerous promotional banners have been illegally erected, especially at the entrances of mass housing complexes developed by Cidco.
These banners are so extensive that they completely cover the names of the housing complexes on the entrance gates, causing significant inconvenience and raising safety concerns.
Festive Season Ads Remain Long After Celebrations End
The illegal advertisements, primarily from sponsors like jewellery stores offering festive discounts, were initially put up during the Diwali and Navratri season. Despite the festivities concluding long ago, these banners remain firmly in place at locations such as the Cidco-built Asavari Gruhasankul in sector 27, Phase-2.
Residents of the housing complex point to the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the Panvel civic body's concerned officials as the primary reason these unauthorized displays have not been removed. The continued presence of these banners long after their promotional relevance has passed highlights a significant failure in municipal oversight.
Community Leader Steps Forward, Promises Immediate Action
Frustrated by the inaction, Mangal Kamble, president of Swach Kharghar Foundation, has taken matters into his own hands. He has publicly declared his intention to file a formal complaint with the Taloja ward officer.
"I will lodge a complaint with the Taloja ward officer and ensure that the illegal banners are pulled down on Sunday," Kamble stated firmly. This commitment from a local community leader represents a direct challenge to the municipal corporation's passive stance and signals growing public impatience with the issue of illegal advertisements cluttering the cityscape.
