Gurgaon Man Kills Wife, 4 Kids Over Loan Dispute

A tragic incident of domestic violence unfolded in Gurgaon's Wazirpur area on Saturday night, where a 35-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and four children before attempting suicide. The dispute reportedly stemmed from a loan taken by the accused, Mohammad Nazim, a resident of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, who had been under financial strain.

Sequence of Events

According to police sources, Nazim and his wife, 31-year-old Nazma, had frequent arguments over the loan. On Saturday, a fresh dispute escalated, leading Nazim to allegedly poison all five family members and then attempt to take his own life. The victims were found lying on the floor, frothing at the mouth, with strangulation marks. Nazim was discovered nearby with slit wounds on his throat and wrists, lying in a pool of blood. A blood-stained knife was recovered from the scene.

Discovery and Rescue

The incident came to light when Nazim's younger brother, Zeeshan, who often visited for dinner, arrived and found the bodies. He alerted their third brother, Arif, who called an ambulance. All six were rushed to a hospital. Zeeshan told reporters, "My sister-in-law and the children were immobile. My brother was bleeding."

Police Response

Police received a call around 9:30 PM, following which crime and forensics teams, along with senior officers, reached the spot. A case of murder has been registered at the Sector 10A police station on a complaint by the house owner. Nazim, currently hospitalized and out of danger, is in police custody and will be formally arrested and interrogated once his condition stabilizes.

Background of the Accused

Nazim ran a salon in the Garhi Harsaru area. The couple had been married for 14 years and lived in the city for nine years, moving to the rented flat in Wazirpur five months ago.

Investigation Ongoing

ACP Naveen Sharma stated that the crime branch has joined local police in the investigation. "The exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report. The real reason behind the incident — including what kind of poison was used — will only be known after a thorough investigation," he said.

The victims have been identified as Nazma and the couple's four children: Iqra (13), Shifa (11), Aayan (7), and Khadija Noor (6). The community is in shock as the investigation continues.
