Kolkata: The decomposed bodies of two men were found at two different locations in Kolkata on Wednesday, prompting police investigations.
First Discovery in Bhowanipore
Around 11 am on Wednesday, the body of Sishir Polley, aged 76, was discovered lying on the floor of his home on Kalimohan Banerjee Lane in the Bhowanipore area. The advanced state of decomposition indicated that he had been dead for several days.
Second Discovery on Gariahat Road
Earlier in the day, the body of Rana Banerjee, aged 56, was found in his second-floor room in a four-storey building on Gariahat Road. Neighbors alerted authorities after noticing a foul smell emanating from the premises.
Police Action
Police have registered two separate cases of unnatural death and have sent both bodies to the morgue for postmortem examinations to determine the exact cause and time of death. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are questioning neighbors and family members to piece together the circumstances leading to the deaths.
