Mysuru: Deputy commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy on Saturday directed officials to expedite the chief minister's basic infrastructure projects, emphasizing that 80% of the funds for these works have already been released.
Chairing a review meeting on the projects, the DC said that if the funds released by the government are not utilized to complete the works, no fresh allocations will be made. He instructed engineering department officials to closely monitor all developmental activities.
Under the scheme, works are being taken up within the Mysuru City Corporation limits. Projects worth Rs 18.7 crore are underway in Krishnaraja assembly constituency, Rs 36.05 crore in Chamaraja constituency, and Rs 35 crore in Narasimharaja constituency. He directed officials to obtain administrative approval for the remaining seven packages and commence work without delay.
He informed the panchayat raj engineering division that in HD Kote assembly constituency, 46 muzrai-related works, costing a total of Rs 3 crore, are in progress. Of these, 14 works are ongoing, while agreements for 32 works are yet to be finalized. He directed officials to complete the formalities and start the works quickly.
He also said that works assigned to KRIDL and Nirmithi Kendra must receive administrative approval within 15 days and be initiated immediately.
