The body of a 64-year-old retired government employee, identified as Kulwant Kaur, was discovered on Friday evening in a forested area adjacent to a hospital in Sector 56, Chandigarh. Kaur had been missing since June 3, after her son briefly left her unattended while he parked his motorcycle.
Investigation Details
Authorities from the Maloya police station, along with forensic experts, arrived at the scene to conduct a preliminary investigation. Notably, Kaur's jewelry was found intact, leading officials to rule out robbery as a motive. While blood was observed coming from her nose, no major external injuries were visible on her body.
Possible Circumstances
According to statements from officials, Kaur was not mentally impaired, and it is believed that she may have become disoriented and lost her way. The exact cause of death remains unknown pending an autopsy, which will be conducted at the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH-16) in Sector 16, Chandigarh.
Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses and the autopsy results become available.
