Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of being frustrated and opposed to technological progress in the country. The minister's remarks came in response to Gandhi's allegations regarding the conduct of CBSE examinations.
Pradhan's Counter to Rahul Gandhi's Claims
Speaking to the media, Pradhan stated that Rahul Gandhi's comments on the CBSE exams were baseless and reflected a mindset that is resistant to change and innovation. He emphasized that the government has been actively promoting digital initiatives to enhance transparency and efficiency in the education sector.
Defense of Technological Advancements
The Union Minister highlighted various steps taken by the government to integrate technology into the examination process, including the use of online platforms for registration, admit cards, and result declaration. He asserted that such measures have made the system more accessible and student-friendly.
Pradhan further accused the Congress leader of spreading misinformation and creating unnecessary confusion among students and parents. He urged Rahul Gandhi to refrain from making unsubstantiated statements that could undermine the credibility of the examination system.
Background of the Controversy
Rahul Gandhi had earlier raised concerns about the CBSE exam process, alleging irregularities and lack of transparency. He called for a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure fairness for students.
However, Pradhan dismissed these allegations, stating that the government has always prioritized the interests of students and has taken all necessary measures to conduct exams smoothly. He reiterated that the digital transformation in education is a key priority of the current administration.
Government's Digital Education Initiatives
The minister also listed several digital initiatives launched by the government, such as the DIKSHA platform, which provides e-content for school education, and the National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR), aimed at building a digital infrastructure for education. He said these efforts have been widely appreciated and have helped bridge the digital divide.
Pradhan concluded by advising the opposition to support constructive changes rather than obstructing progress. He called for a bipartisan approach to improve the education system in the country.
