Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration, through its Lakshya Niketan initiative, conducted mock interviews for candidates who qualified in the OPSC main (civil service) examination on Tuesday evening. This program offers free coaching to aspirants preparing for UPSC and OPSC exams.
Mock Interview Details
At least five candidates, including a woman, participated in the mock interviews. Six bureaucrats, comprising four IAS and IPS officers, guided them on interview techniques and confidence building. Each candidate was interviewed for 45 minutes, receiving personalized feedback.
"The candidates were guided on ways to face the interview and build up on confidence," said Avinash Kumar, sub-collector of Berhampur.
Panel of Officers
The interview panel included Ganjam Collector V. Keerthi Vasan, Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) Commissioner A. Sasya Reddy, SP (Berhampur) Saravana Vivek M, and two senior OAS officers. Their expertise helped candidates understand the expectations of the actual OPSC personality test.
OPSC Personality Test Schedule
The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) will conduct the personality test and document verification for the Odisha Civil Service Examination from May 14 to 20 at its office in Cuttack.
Free Coaching Initiative
The district administration launched free coaching for selected meritorious aspirants. Currently, 170 candidates, 50% of whom are women, receive coaching at centers in Berhampur, Bhanjanagar, and Chhatrapur. The administration has partnered with a New Delhi-based coaching center to provide high-quality training.
This initiative aims to level the playing field for rural and underprivileged students, giving them access to expert guidance and resources. The mock interviews are a key component, helping candidates refine their responses and reduce anxiety before the final selection process.
