Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced a temporary suspension of Metro services on a section of the Purple Line to facilitate essential maintenance work. The affected stretch runs between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) and Sir M Visvesvaraya Station (Central College).
Service Suspension Details
According to an official press note from BMRCL, services on the Purple Line will be suspended from Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji Station (Hosahalli) to Cubbon Park Station on Sunday, May 10. The suspension will be in effect from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM. During this two-hour window, trains will not operate on this specific segment.
Alternative Arrangements
Despite the partial shutdown, BMRCL has ensured that services from terminal stations will continue to operate. From the Challaghatta side, trains will run up to Vijayanagar Station. From the Kadugodi (Whitefield) side, services will be available up to MG Road Station. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use these alternative endpoints.
No Impact on Other Lines
Importantly, there will be no disruption to services on the Green Line and the Yellow Line. These lines will operate as per their normal schedule throughout the maintenance period.
Resumption of Normal Services
After 9:00 AM, normal services will be fully restored on the entire Purple Line, covering the route from Challaghatta to Kadugodi (Whitefield). Commuters can expect regular train frequency and operations from that time onward.
