CM Yogi Adityanath Commends Jewar Farmers for Land Contribution to Noida Airport

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude to farmers in Jewar on Saturday for their support in providing land for the Noida International Airport project, a move that has facilitated the development of Uttar Pradesh's flagship international aviation hub. The CM highlighted that the land acquisition process proceeded smoothly in Jewar, despite the region's history of violent land agitations, indirectly referencing past conflicts like Bhatta Parsaul that delayed housing projects in Noida and Greater Noida.

Dialogue and Compensation Key to Success

"Earlier, several agitations took place here against land acquisition. But we established a dialogue with the farmers. When they were connected with timely compensation and rehabilitation, the farmers contributed 13,000 acres of land for Noida International Airport. The farmers gave positive cooperation in the entire process," Adityanath stated during the airport's launch event. He emphasized that this collaboration turned resolve into achievement, with the airport set to elevate UP's economy and serve as a launchpad for the state's future growth.

Infrastructure Development and Economic Impact

The CM noted that the airport is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's broader vision to build a developed India over the past 11-12 years, underscoring that strong infrastructure is essential for a self-reliant nation. While one runway is now operational, the airport is planned to expand to five runways, evolving into a global aviation hub. Adityanath recalled that Modi laid the foundation stone on November 25, 2021, and the inauguration of the first phase demonstrates the efficiency of the double-engine government.

He detailed the airport's connectivity, including links to the Yamuna Expressway and planned integrations with the Eastern Peripheral, Delhi-Mumbai, and Ganga expressways, as well as the RRTS corridor. The project is expected to generate employment for lakhs of youth, both directly and indirectly, boosting industrial development and investment in the region.

Global Context and Policy Support

Addressing global economic challenges, Adityanath pointed out that while petroleum prices are rising in developed countries like the United States and neighboring nations, leading to production cuts and rationing, India has maintained stable supply and prices. He thanked Modi for reducing excise duty on petroleum products, which has helped mitigate economic pressures.

Stakeholder Perspectives and Attendees

Union Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu described the inauguration as "a celebration of the dreams, resolutions and possibilities of New India," praising Modi's dedication to public service and India's progress toward self-reliance. Filmmaker Boney Kapoor, involved in developing the International Film City in the YEIDA area, expressed his commitment to the project, attributing its success to Modi's foresight and Adityanath's vision.

The event was attended by Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, former additional chief secretary Awanish Awasthi, former Yamuna Authority CEO Arun Veer Singh, MP Mahesh Sharma, and Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, among others.
