Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Champions Inclusive Development at Siddharthnagar Event

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while inaugurating and laying the foundation for 229 development projects valued at over Rs 1,052 crore, delivered a powerful message on Wednesday, asserting that true progress cannot be achieved by dividing society along lines of caste, religion, or region. He emphasized that the state government is unwavering in its commitment to executing welfare and development initiatives "without bias or discrimination."

Ram Rajya as the Guiding Principle for Governance

Addressing a public gathering in Siddharthnagar during the Siddharthnagar Mahotsav, Adityanath articulated that a discrimination-free approach is the very essence of Ram Rajya—an ideal of just, ethical, and people-centric governance as depicted in the Ramayana. "Development cannot be achieved by dividing society. It has to be pursued with a comprehensive outlook and without any discrimination, no 'mine' or 'yours', no caste, religion, language, or regional bias. This discrimination-free approach alone reflects the true spirit of Ram Rajya," he stated firmly.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the Uttar Pradesh government views the entire population of the state as one unified family, working diligently towards inclusive and sustainable development. He paid homage to Lord Buddha, describing Siddharthnagar as a sacred land that has historically propagated messages of compassion and harmony to the world.

Transformation of Siddharthnagar: From Aspirational District to Development Hub

Adityanath reflected on the remarkable transformation of Siddharthnagar, which was once categorized as an aspirational district plagued by inadequate infrastructure, widespread diseases, and significant migration. He noted that through persistent efforts inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, encephalitis—a disease that had claimed numerous lives for decades—was effectively eliminated within a few years after 2017. "Those who lost their lives were not vote banks for us. They were part of our family, and the government fulfilled its responsibility," he remarked emotionally.

The Chief Minister outlined several key infrastructural advancements that have revitalized the region:

  • Enhanced road connectivity, including four-lane highways linking Siddharthnagar with neighboring areas and Nepal, aimed at boosting investment and employment opportunities.
  • The Shamli-Gorakhpur corridor passing through Dumariaganj, Bansi, and Itwa, which is poised to act as a vital development corridor for the entire area.
  • Establishment of a medical college, initiation of a nursing college, inauguration of a women's hostel, and plans for a 1,000-seat auditorium under corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Ensuring Welfare Schemes Reach Every Household

Adityanath stressed the importance of ensuring that welfare schemes such as ration distribution, toilet construction, housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat health cards reach every impoverished household without any form of discrimination. "This is the essence of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'," he declared, reinforcing the government's dedication to collective growth and support.

Call for Agricultural Diversification and Local Recognition

In his address, the Chief Minister urged farmers to diversify their cropping patterns by adopting a third crop in addition to the traditional two, citing successful examples from Kannauj, Auraiya, and Kanpur Dehat where maize cultivation has generated additional income of nearly Rs 1 lakh per acre. He also advocated for recognizing and honoring local artists, sportspersons, traders, and other exemplary individuals during district festivals to foster healthy competition and positive energy within communities.

Collective Efforts and Condolences

Adityanath described the inaugurated projects as a "collective effort," noting that proposals originated from public representatives and were approved based on merit. "We are only a medium. When justified proposals come, funds are released without discrimination," he explained. The event was attended by notable figures including Leader of the Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly and Itwa MLA Mata Prasad Pandey, state minister Anil Rajbhar, Dumariaganj MP Jagdambika Pal, and other public representatives.

In a somber note, the Chief Minister expressed condolences over the reported death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in an airplane crash and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, showcasing a moment of solidarity beyond state boundaries.
