Vice President's Daylong Jharkhand Tour to Honor Tribal Icon and Attend Academic Event
Vice President C P Radhakrishnan is scheduled to embark on a significant daylong tour of Jharkhand this Saturday, with a primary focus on paying tribute to the revered tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda. His itinerary includes a visit to Munda's native village and participation in a prestigious academic convocation, underscoring a blend of cultural homage and educational engagement.
Homage to Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Ulihatu Village
According to official sources, the Vice President will arrive at the Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi at 9:35 am. From there, he will proceed directly to Ulihatu village in Khunti district, the birthplace of the legendary tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda. During this visit, Radhakrishnan is set to pay solemn homage to Munda, whose legacy as a freedom fighter and social reformer remains deeply influential in Indian history. Additionally, he will meet with the descendants of Birsa Munda, offering a personal connection to the leader's enduring heritage and acknowledging the community's contributions.
Convocation at IIM-Ranchi and Tributes in Ranchi
After returning to Ranchi from Ulihatu, the Vice President will make a stop at Birsa Chowk to pay floral tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda, further honoring his memory in the state capital. The highlight of the afternoon will be his attendance at the 15th annual convocation of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi. This event marks a key moment for the institute, celebrating academic achievements and fostering leadership among students, with Radhakrishnan's presence adding national significance to the ceremony.
Comprehensive Security Measures and No-Fly Zones
In preparation for the Vice President's visit, extensive security arrangements have been implemented by the Ranchi and Khunti district administrations. To ensure safety, no-fly zones have been declared within a 200-meter radius along the route from Birsa Munda Airport to Lok Bhawan, passing through Hinoo Chowk, Birsa Chowk, and Argora Chowk, as well as around IIM Ranchi. In Khunti district, similar restrictions will be enforced wherever his cavalcade is scheduled to travel.
Key prohibitions include:
- Flying of drones, hot air balloons, and paragliders in the designated areas.
- These curbs will be active from 6 am to 10 pm on Saturday, covering the entire duration of his tour.
