Uttar Pradesh Government Showcases Nine-Year Governance Achievements on Navratri
On the auspicious occasion of the first day of Navratri, dedicated to Maa Shailputri, the Uttar Pradesh government has highlighted its nine-year journey of governance, asserting that a strict zero-tolerance policy towards crime has firmly established the rule of law in the state. This initiative has made Uttar Pradesh significantly safer for citizens, businesses, and investors alike, according to official statements.
Enhanced Public Safety and Economic Growth
Officials have stated that sustained action against crime and criminals since 2017 has not only improved public safety but also restored a sense of confidence among women. This empowerment has enabled women to work fearlessly, even during night shifts, contributing to a more inclusive workforce. The improved law and order situation has also played a crucial role in driving economic growth, boosting trade, industry, and investment. As a result, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a preferred destination for both domestic and global investors, fostering a robust economic environment.
Enforcement Measures and Statistics
Highlighting the enforcement measures, the government reported that 269 criminals have been killed in police encounters since 2017, while 10,990 have been injured during operations. Additionally, as many as 22,306 reward-carrying criminals have been arrested, showcasing the state's aggressive stance against unlawful activities.
A focused crackdown on organised crime has been carried out against mafia networks, with cases registered against 1,459 individuals linked to 68 mafia gangs. This has led to the arrest of 638 accused, disrupting criminal operations across the state.
Asset Confiscation and Convictions
Authorities have reported that properties worth over Rs 4,137 crore, allegedly acquired through illegal means by these criminals, have been confiscated. This move aims to dismantle the financial foundations of criminal enterprises and deter future illicit activities.
Under Operation Conviction, a total of 1,25,985 accused have been convicted over the past nine years, demonstrating the effectiveness of the judicial process in Uttar Pradesh. This high conviction rate underscores the state's commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining law and order.
Progress in Women-Related Cases
According to official figures, Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country in terms of disposal of cases related to women, with an impressive disposal rate of 98.90%. This achievement reflects the government's dedication to addressing gender-based violence and protecting women's rights, further enhancing the state's reputation for safety and justice.
The Uttar Pradesh government's comprehensive approach to crime reduction has not only improved security but also fostered a conducive environment for economic and social development, aligning with the spirit of Navratri's celebration of strength and prosperity.
