UP BJP Commemorates Ambedkar Jayanti with Statewide Events at Over 1.6 Lakh Polling Booths
The Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar with extensive programs held across the state. According to an official party statement, the events were organized at more than 1.6 lakh polling booths throughout Uttar Pradesh, marking a significant and widespread tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Floral Tributes and Constitutional Pledge Across the State
Party leaders, workers, and supporters participated in large numbers, paying floral tributes to portraits and statues of Dr. Ambedkar. A key highlight of these gatherings was the collective recitation of the Preamble of the Constitution, symbolizing a reaffirmation of commitment to Ambedkar's ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. The BJP emphasized that these activities were aimed at honoring his legacy and promoting constitutional values among the masses.
High-Profile Participation in Saharanpur and Beyond
In Saharanpur, the commemorations saw the presence of top state leaders. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and state general secretary (organization) Dharampal Singh, offered their respects to Dr. Ambedkar. Their involvement underscored the party's dedication to the occasion and its efforts to engage leadership at all levels.
Subhash Yaduvansh, the state general secretary and convenor of the Ambedkar Jayanti campaign, confirmed that similar programs were successfully conducted at all the designated booths, ensuring a pan-state reach. The BJP has further announced a week-long series of events to extend the celebrations, focusing on various aspects of Ambedkar's life and contributions.
Development Initiatives and Statue Beautification in Lucknow
During an event in Lucknow's Sarojini Nagar constituency, MLA Rajeshwar Singh highlighted development works undertaken in honor of Dr. Ambedkar. He showcased the beautification of 10 Ambedkar statues, which included improved lighting, cleanliness drives, and enhanced basic infrastructure around the sites to create a more dignified environment.
Singh announced that restoration work at an additional 10 locations would be initiated over the next year, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to preserving and enhancing memorials dedicated to the revered leader. These initiatives aim to not only pay tribute but also to integrate Ambedkar's principles into community development and public welfare projects.
