Gurgaon: Two children, aged 10 and 12, drowned in a pond inside a golf course near Ambience Mall on Thursday evening. Police identified the victims as Krishan Kumar of Bhiwani (10) and Adarsh of Bihar (12), both residents of Nathupur village. They were accompanied by two other boys, Satish and Ankush.
Incident Details
According to police sources, the four boys scaled the boundary wall of the golf course in DLF Phase-3 and entered the pond to take a bath around 7 pm. During this, Krishan and Adarsh drowned. The other two boys, Satish and Ankush, raised an alarm, prompting a team from DLF Phase-3 police station to arrive at the spot. The police pulled the children out of the water and rushed them to a nearby Civil Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Post-Incident Actions
The bodies were later shifted to the mortuary for an autopsy scheduled for Friday. Police officers declined to comment on the matter. Authorities have initiated inquest proceedings. Sources indicated that the victims had trespassed on the property, which is under investigation. The grieving families of the victims reached the spot after being alerted.
This tragic incident highlights the dangers of unsupervised swimming in unauthorized areas. Local authorities are urged to enhance safety measures around water bodies to prevent such occurrences in the future.
