Nagpur: A moving truck caught fire near the Khadka toll plaza on the Samruddhi Expressway in Hingna on Wednesday evening, causing panic among motorists but resulting in no injuries. The incident occurred around 8:15 pm, prompting an immediate response from the local fire department.

Incident Details

The truck, driven by Mohd Azeem Khan (45), a resident of Nagalwadi, was in motion when the fire suddenly broke out. The driver managed to pull over and escape unharmed before the flames engulfed the vehicle. Fire officer Sanket Mate, along with personnel Piyush Bobde and Nitin Kohare, arrived at the scene and worked swiftly to bring the blaze under control.

Fire Department Response

The Wanadongri fire department received the distress call at 8:15 pm. The team used foam and water to douse the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby areas. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but preliminary investigations suggest a possible mechanical fault.

Traffic on the expressway was briefly affected as authorities managed the situation. The truck was completely damaged in the incident. No other vehicles were involved, and no casualties were reported.
