A tragic incident occurred on Thursday afternoon at Thavakkal, Vithura, where a 26-year-old Technopark employee lost her life while attempting to save a friend who had fallen into a river. The deceased has been identified as Anupama, a native of Kamaleswaram.

According to reports, Anupama and her friends were walking on the steps near the river when one of her friends slipped and fell into the water. Without hesitation, Anupama jumped in to rescue her friend but was swept away by the strong currents of the river. Although her friends managed to save the woman who had fallen into the river, Anupama went missing in the turbulent waters.
Rescue Efforts
Some migrant workers who were present in the area quickly rushed to the spot and later managed to pull Anupama out of the water. She was immediately rushed to Vithura Taluk Hospital, but the doctors declared her dead on arrival due to the severity of the situation.
Postmortem and Investigation
The body of Anupama has been shifted to the Medical College Hospital (MCH) for postmortem examination. The local authorities have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
