Sanjay Singh Slams 'Operation Lotus' After Raghav Chadha Quits AAP
Sanjay Singh Blames 'Operation Lotus' as Raghav Chadha Leaves AAP

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of orchestrating a political conspiracy in Punjab following the resignation of senior party leader Raghav Chadha.

Sanjay Singh Accuses BJP of 'Operation Lotus'

Addressing the media in Delhi, Singh alleged that the BJP was executing its infamous 'Operation Lotus' to destabilise the AAP government in Punjab. He claimed that central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) were being misused to pressure AAP legislators.

"Operation Lotus is being executed on the Punjab government. ED and CBI are being used to carry out this operation," Singh said.

'Traitors' Will Not Be Forgotten

Singh did not mince words while referring to the legislators who have left the party. He labelled them as 'traitors' and asserted that the people of Punjab would never forgive them.

"The people of Punjab will never forget these traitors," he stated emphatically.

His remarks come in the wake of Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha's decision to quit the AAP, a move that has sent shockwaves through the party ranks. Chadha was considered a close aide of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and a key strategist for the party.

Political Fallout in Punjab

The resignation has intensified speculation about further defections from the AAP in Punjab, where the party is already grappling with internal dissent. The BJP has consistently denied allegations of poaching opposition MLAs, terming such claims as baseless.

However, Singh insisted that the BJP's tactics would backfire. "Punjab has a long memory. Those who betray the mandate of the people will face the wrath of the electorate," he warned.

The political drama in Punjab is expected to escalate as both parties prepare for the upcoming assembly elections. The AAP leadership has called an emergency meeting to discuss the situation and formulate a strategy to counter the BJP's moves.
