Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday alleged a Rs 100 crore scam in the rehabilitation of project-affected persons (PAP) in Mumbai, claiming misuse of the official letterhead of ministers. Raut stated that houses are being distributed to bogus beneficiaries based on recommendation letters from Mumbai suburban joint guardian minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, causing injustice to genuine PAPs.
Allegations in Letter to CM
Raut made these allegations in a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, which he also posted on X. He demanded strict action against those involved in malpractices in the allocation of flats to PAPs. Raut emphasized that the government's role is to remove constructions hindering development and provide housing to affected people under the PAP scheme.
Racket Involving Multiple Agencies
According to Raut, a racket is operating to give flats to the wrong people through corrupt means by pressuring offices of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), and Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). He specifically named an organization called 'Sakal Hindu Samaj' as acting as a broker in this scheme.
Raut urged the chief minister to investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate legal action against the culprits to ensure justice for the real project-affected persons.
