Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale delivered a powerful address in Darbhanga on Saturday evening. He spoke at a conference marking the completion of 100 years for the organisation. The event took place at the local DMCH auditorium.
Youth Power Drives National Strength
Hosabale highlighted the significant role young people play in building a strong nation. He stated that Indian youth have already demonstrated this capacity across the country. The RSS leader expressed confidence in the younger generation's potential to shape India's future.
Century of Service and Discipline
The general secretary reflected on the organisation's hundred-year journey. He explained that RSS has played a pivotal role through penance, austerity and self-discipline. These qualities helped organise society and create awareness about nationalism. Social harmony remained a consistent focus throughout this century of work.
Hosabale clarified the organisation's fundamental purpose. He emphasized that RSS does not work for individuals or political power. Instead, it dedicates itself to serving the nation and civil society. Volunteers continuously engage in social service across multiple domains.
Five Pillars for National Development
The RSS leader outlined five proposed areas requiring attention and transformation:
- Social harmony across all communities
- Climate conservation and environmental protection
- Promotion of indigenous lifestyles and traditions
- Awareness about civic duties and responsibilities
- Strengthening family units and domestic foundations
Hosabale described these areas as essential for creating a self-reliant society. Such a society would demonstrate stronger loyalty to the nation. He particularly stressed the urgency of climate action with a memorable comparison.
"For mobile phones there is enough time, but for climate conservation there is no time," Hosabale remarked during his address.
Building Social Foundations
The second-in-command of RSS explained how organised society forms the foundation of a strong nation. He warned against any form of discrimination, describing it as injurious to national unity. The organisation positions itself above caste, community and religious distinctions.
"RSS is above caste, community and panth," Hosabale stated clearly. "The three should be complementary to each other. Social harmony is the basic foundation of a strong nation."
Family Values and Daily Practice
Hosabale urged families to incorporate specific values into their daily lives. He mentioned sanskar, punctuality and dedication as essential qualities. These values would help strengthen both families and the broader society.
The conference included a question-and-answer session following the main address. Hosabale responded to queries from audience members representing diverse sections of society. Attendees included intelligentsia, social workers, academics and other community members.
Volunteers of the organisation continue serving society through various initiatives. Their work promotes harmony, self-reliance, climate conservation and cultural awakening. These efforts align with the vision Hosabale presented during the centenary conference in Darbhanga.
