RPF Alerted Malda Police About Stone Pelting Threat Before PM Modi's Vande Bharat Launch

The Railway Protection Force warned Malda police about possible stone pelting incidents ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to West Bengal. This warning came just before the Prime Minister flagged off the first Vande Bharat sleeper train between Howrah and Guwahati on Saturday.

Intelligence Inputs Prompted Security Alert

According to sources familiar with the matter, intelligence department inputs indicated potential security threats during the Prime Minister's visit. The RPF specifically mentioned the possibility of stone pelting and black flag waving against PM Modi in their official communication.

The RPF's letter, dated Thursday, detailed specific concerns about antisocial elements in Malda. It stated that these individuals might attempt stone pelting on the Vande Bharat sleeper train as it passed through multiple locations including Malda, Jamirghata, Khaltipur, and several other stations along the route.

Police Instructed to Enhance Security Measures

Local police received clear instructions to deploy sufficient personnel for maintaining law and order. The RPF letter explicitly requested adequate security arrangements to ensure the event concluded peacefully without any disruptions.

This is not the first time Vande Bharat trains have faced such threats. Previous incidents involved stones being thrown at the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express. Railway authorities took strict action in those cases to prevent recurrence.

TMC Alleges RPF Misconduct at Malda Station

Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress made serious allegations against the Railway Protection Force. The party claimed on social media platform X that RPF personnel mercilessly beat up a person at Malda railway station.

According to TMC's post, this incident occurred specifically to clear the station area before Prime Minister Modi's arrival. The party questioned whether this represented how the central government treats India's poor citizens.

The TMC statement accused the administration of prioritizing photo opportunities over human dignity. It claimed that under the current governance, narratives get carefully stage-managed while marginalized people face harassment from central forces.

The Railway Protection Force has not yet issued any official statement responding to these allegations. The situation remains developing as both security concerns and political accusations continue to surface.

Prime Minister Modi's visit to West Bengal included multiple significant announcements beyond the Vande Bharat sleeper launch. He flagged off seven new trains and dedicated several development projects worth thousands of crores of rupees to the state.
